10 Way To Increase The Comments On Your Blog

By: Lynette Chandler

Does your blog look lonely because you rarely (if ever) get people
commenting on it? Want more comments? Try out a few or all of
these ten easy ways to get more comments.

1. Just ask. If you don't ask, you don't get it. It's really that easy.
The worst that could happen is people don't leave comments so
you're aren't worse off just by asking. When you do ask, chances
are people will respond.

2. Get help. Tell your readers you need help deciding for example,
help picking out a new hairstyle, color for your home office, new
computer, help with a new logo design. You get the idea.

3. Give them a chance to self promote. You can get people to
comment by adding any relevant sites that they know of for a
resource list you tell them you're building.

4. Ask them to complete an action. For example, you say you're
writing a report about seven most common gardening problems
but you've found only four. Tell them to come up with the other
three and the ones chosen to be included in your report will get
credit on your report.

5. If you blog about your experience on products or services you
have used, then encourage your reader to do the same (even if it's
an affiliate product). Allow both positive and negative reviews
though so that you become an unbiased blog to visit when
someone is looking for reviews.

6. Offer comments subscription. People are used to forums.
Whether they contribute to a discussion or not, they like to get
notified when someone else has something to say about a post.
Make it easy for them to follow the conversation by offering a way
to subscribe to comments both by email and RSS.

7. Tap into your network, customers or your list. Tell people about
your posts and encourage them to visit and let you know what
they think about the it or if they have further thoughts to add. You
could also ask customers to blog about you and trackback to your
blog.

8. Ask your readers to let you know what they think about the
freebie by posting to your blog.

9. Slow down. Maybe you're posting too often that your readers
just can't keep up with your posts let alone stop to comment.

10. Extend a discussion. Blog about something you read on
another blog, news, magazine or other media then invite readers
to share their thoughts. This usually works very well for hot topics
of the day, week or month.

Now that you know ten easy ways to get comments, try a few
today. Don't forget, sometimes you may not see results in the first
few days or weeks but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. Keep
asking questions and provoking responses and you'll have a busy
blog after all.

Blogs Are Us! Create A Money-Making Winner

By: Karen Cook

Do you have a blog? Maybe you have more than one. It may just be a vehicle to publish your personal views. Or you may have set up a blog to make money.

Maybe you don't have a blog yet. You've been thinking of starting one because it's all you keep hearing about and you want to get in on this cultural phenomenon. You just are not sure how to go about setting a blog up. After all, it wasn't too long ago that you didn't know what or who a "blog" was!

Either way, I've noticed bloggers seem to take advantage of AdSense. That tells us the blogger wants to receive payment from Google. Who among us can say NO to having our incomes supplemented?

What if there was a new and one-of-a-kind way to make money with your blog? What if it was easy to set up? So easy, total newbies are doing it!

There are simple steps to follow setting up your new blog...

1. Choose your target market.

Obviously, it will be a niche you are interested in. A hobby or a subject where you have special knowledge. This is important. After all, you want to
have fun blogging. Not much enjoyment in doing something that gives you zero interest.

This system offers you a choice of over 25 million markets! The most time you will spend on setting up your blog will be the time it takes you to decide which markets you want to pursue.

2. Set up your blog.

(Blogger.com offers you a free service) With this software, as soon as you have selected the products you want on your blog, you simply press BUILD and voila! Your very own store/boutique is automatically created for you!

The best part? Your blog will be unique! Nobody, nowhere, will have a store like yours. You'll be thrilled when you see what you can achieve with this software. And, you don't have to stop with only one shop. Build more. Go crazy with your piece of virtual real estate.

3. Turn traffic into money.

Each page of your store will target different keywords. Meaning, better search engine rankings. How? Because you now have content-rich pages which search engines love!

And...it's constantly changing as products are bought and new stock added. Search engines will love you. When visitors are attracted to your blog, they will be funneled through to the products they are interested in.

You will be paid commissions on the products your visitors purchase. Plus, they have the bonus of a pleasurable shopping experience. Who can say that for the mall?

So, whether you have a blog for fun or profit, this newly-developed system deserves your attention.

One Comment Became a New Marketing Strategy

By: Lynette Chandler

I was recently on a teleconference call where a customer let
everyone on the call know about an amazing story. She said she
had been reading different blogs on the internet and came across
a particular comment that made her take note.

She told us, "Her comment impressed me so much and was so
good. It was exactly what I needed at that point in time." When
asked which blog this was or the topic of the comment, she could
not remember. "The comment stood up so much that in my mind it
took precedence over the blog itself", she confessed.

She did finally let us know that it was a comment of mine that she
had found on someone else's blog. She read the comment,
enjoyed it, and has been a long time customer since then.

I've always extolled the virtues of strategic and intellectual
knowledge exchange - in other words, responsible commenting.
This concept is not a new one. Discussion forums have been
around for a long time and many people understand that
contributing to this format can be of great benefit to you. The
principals here are the same.

I've got comments out there that I posted over two years ago and
they are still bringing me visitors each and every month. Of course
this isn't a matter of hundreds of people a day but the amount and
quality of visitors I do get is something that would of cost me a lot
of money to get through various paid methods. One of the nicest
things about this is that I didn't do much work at all, but yet
everyday the owner has their site active I have these comments
working for me.

Of course this doesn't happen with every comment you leave. You
are not always going to hit the home run on every comment, you
may not always affect everyone the same way. But the more of
them you have out there, the more likely you will reach the right
people.

Having said all that, this doesn't give you a license to purchase an
automated software to spam every comment form out there. It's a
waste of your efforts because few of those automated junk
comments you send out will make it through the site's comment
spam filters or the admin's scrutiny.

Another reason is that spammers feel it is an open invitation to
send out these comments and gain links back. Though search
engine marketing is important, they'll be coming from the wrong
angle. If you're in business for the long term - which I hope you
are; Keep yourself in check by remembering what it is you are
trying to accomplish, getting lots of search engine traffic doesn't
mean anything if they are not following your comments because
they are interested in what you had to say.

If you do that, the link back will come naturally. You also get the
opportunity to make an impression on people who read your
comments.

Many don't understand how much this is worth and it's a sad thing
that it isn't taken as seriously as it should. I can testify myself that
it is worth a lot. Remember that customer I told you about at the
start of this article? She went on to become an affiliate who sent a
lot of business my way, and it never would of happened without
my leaving a useful comment on a blog as I traveled through.
